Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

UPEDATE-

I HAVE FLASHED VANIR AND THIS BABY IS PURRING LIKE A KITTEN. AGAIN, NO ISSUES WITH SMS & MMS BOTH SENDING AND RECEIVING . BOTH ARE WORKING PERFECTLY WITHOUT HAVING TO MAKE ANY CHANGES.

I GOT TO ADMIT FELLAS, THIS FREAKING ROM IS FAST AND I HAVEN'T EVEN ADDED A KERNEL TO IT YET. MAN THIS THING IS FAST AND VERY RESPONSIVE. THE GAPPS PACKAGE THAT IS IN THE ROM THREAD IS MINIMAL. IT COMES WITH VERY FEW APPS. I GUESS THE DEV FIGURES YOU CAN ADD WHAT YOU WANT FROM PLAY WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE.

AS FOR WHY MMS ISNT WORKING FOR SOME, I HAVE NO IDEA. FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGH WE KNOW THESE PHONES CAN HAVE MINDS OF THEIR OWN. WHAT IS WORKING FLAWLESSLY ON ONE PHONE MAY NOT DO THE SAME FOR ANOTHER. I'VE SEEN THIS HAPPEN MORE TIMES THAT I CAN COUNT.

THE GOOD NEWS IS VANIR IS RUNNING GREAT FOR ME RIGHT NOW. I DO BELIEVE IM GONNA STICK WITH IT AND PUT IT THROUGH ITS PACES. HOPEFULLY ALL WILL CONTINUE TO GO WELL. IM DEF KEEPING ME FINGERS CROSSED BECAUSE THIS THING IS OFF THE CHAIN AT THE MOMENT. MAN THIS THING IS RUNNING GREAT. GOTTA ADMIT THAT IM IMPRESSED.

ONE MORE MAJOR THING THAT I NEED TO ADD. I AM RUNNING PHILZ RECOVERY. 4.4 BEANSTALK WOULDN'T EVEN FLASH WITH THE VERSION OF TWRP I WAS RUNNING. LOOKS LIKE IM GONNA BE STICKING WITH PHILZ FOR AWHILE FELLAS AND THESE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. PHILZ IS DEFINITELY A KICK ASS RECOVERY. :D:thumbup:

I didn't even know this was a thing. Downloading and flashing tomorrow. And i really like philz recovery so many options and you can restore twrp backups even. I still can't get an effective cloned Rom from it though. Probably user error.

I just looked at trying to flash a TWRP ROM from PHILZ but I didn't go through with it. I need to do more research before attempting it. There are several guys in here who know how to do it. Hopefully they'll chime in and tell you what need to be do to clone. Some of these guys have got PHILZ RECOVERY down pat and know it like that back of their hand.

Edit. Doing some pc maintenance right now. I'll get these ROMS added as soon as I can with the info I've learned. Figured I'd go ahead and let you guys know about it here though. :D

TOLD YA I'D BE DOING SOME TESTING. LOL. :p:D:p:D

Also, after reading through a good many of the other ROM threads, many of them are buggy as hell. No sense in even adding them here yet until they get the bugs worked out. Struckn has a good knowledge of the good ones. He would definitely be a good source of info if you need some help. He's a great guy and I'm sure he wouldn't mind one bit helping out if he can.

I tell ya fellas, we're blessed to have some great members in here. I know I've said it before but after you've visited some of the other threads and see the way their members treat each other , you see exactly what I mean when I say we're blessed to have the members we do. :)

Don't be scared. ... it's easy, flashes fine. You can even backup as twrp; I haven't tried that one yet, I don't see the need.

You will find the twrp option in backup/restore

Oh yeah. I've already been all up in the recovery Checking it out. It just threw me off when I saw all the things that needed to be flashed to get the TWRP backup restored when I'm so used to seeing one thing, tapping it and my backup restoring. I believe it was WY who said that all I need to do was choose all the items from the backup and them flash them. I have yet to do this since I have both zip recoveries on my SD card lol. It literally only takes a few seconds to flash TWRP or PHILZ, reboot back into recovery and restore the backup.

Still, it's in my best interest to learn the entire workings of PHILZ RECOVERY. That is one of the things on my 2 do list. If I can learn it as well as I know CWM and TWRP then I'll be good to go. There is a lot to PHILZ RECOVERY. That's for sure. Being a huge TWRP fan, I still have to admit that PHILZ is definitely one helluva recovery and may in fact be the best one out there right now. It's options are out of this world. Once one has mastered PHILZ, they have indeed done something to be proud of. ;)

So what kernel would you use on vanie ROM ?

Personally, I'm finding the stock kernel to be excellent right now. It's fast and snappy as can be. I'm sure I'll end up trying dkp and KToonsez but right now I'm gonna stick with the stock kernel. I'll probably try a custom kernel later this evening. I've already got dkp downloaded. LOL.

Here's a shot of what I've done with it so far nothing really fancy but I think it looks good for starters. The ROM has a ton of options that I've been trying to get checked out but it's honestly a lot more than a guy can get figured out in one night with a tired mind.

Here you guys go........ VANIR, Wetbiker style. This too will change soon and often. :p:D:p:D

Very nice buddy! If you like Vanir (I do as well, but couldn't stand their 4.3.x version, way too buggy) try out Commotio as well, it's in the same thread and from the same dev team. Smooth as butter. Regardless, gotta love Heavy Metal Android Development!!

So, been very happy with StaticPower v2... except for one problem.

Simply, while I have no problem accessing the classic voicemail (hold 1 on dialer), the issue is that the phone doesn't notify me that there are messages waiting. Suggestions?

Also, a recent run with this zerolemon battery on this S3 and this ROM got me to a full four days of life. Sadly I forgot to take a screenshot. :( I promise to upload one if/when I am able to get to five. :D

Do you have the Visual Voicemail app installed? It should alert you properly. Loving my ZeroLemon by the way, just got six days; unfortunately, every time I flash a new ROM or plug in via USB for twenty seconds just to transfer files the phone restarts my battery stats from that moment. Basically, I am now charging my phone once a week!

Am I able to install that myself? I definitely think it's a case that I don't have that app, since I don't recall it being there when I flashed to SP v2.

Do you have a nandroid backup of the stock ROM? If so, you can restore that, save the Visual Voicemail app with Titanium Backup, and then restore just the app (not the data) once you flash back to Static Power.

No testing tonight guys power has been out for hours. This bites. No estimated time on when it's gonna be restored either. They need to get their act together....... Pretty sure it's been out for 4 hours or so now. WITH?

Gotta look on the bright side though, going camping soon. Woo-hoo!

hey smith whats your take on beta 2! is it worth flashing i found some time this weekend to do some testing figured I'd start with my favorite rom.

Sorry for the late response. ..

I used it all day yesterday and today, not one problem. I'm not looking for problems, but IT IS well enough to be my daily driver. So far I'm liking it. Mms, Gps, Hotspot, 4G, All work... no fc's no reboots... yesterday I used dkp kernel and today I used kt747.

I did a dirty flash from 7.1 and will be doing the same when official 7.2 is released.

I give it a thumbs up.

not familiar with static power rom but if its a touch wiz rom make sure your samsung push service is up to date. from my understanding thats what gives you the little badges that read how manny missed calls or messages you have right on the icon its self might have something to do with it.

First time ever doin it dirty lol. multi window is not only 4 apps at once i had 6 goin couldnt possibly thinkof why i would need m.o.a.r. than two apps running at once but its another one up on apple that i can tease my fam with can your iphone open m.o.a.r. than one app at the same time all on one screen i think not lol most of the time i just get a so what but one of those man i wish my phone did that so whats lol

Anyone have a fast mirror I can d/l this at? I've been at a d/l from MOAR_v7.2.0.Beta2.zip | by roMpnit for Galaxy S 3_Sprint since 8am this morning and it's now almost 10pm. It's failed on me multiple times because it drops down to an utterly low speed, at times I hit 10k :(.......so please if anyone has a link, I'd be grateful...I would be up and running if not for the failed d/l's

Just to give you an idea, I'm on my 4th d/l....of a 800MB file, and it's dropped to 23 and 17k d/l speed, so I don't hold much faith in this one finishing either.

thats sux wish i could help. hopefully one of these guys sees this soon i know smith posted a link a couple posts back not sure if its beta 2 tho.

Edit: Check page 19

Yes somebody did post a mirror link its probably somewhere between 50 and 100 posts after rompnit's I posted link...
I really don't want to but I suppose I will blaze through the post and scan over um if I find it I will post it but don't get your hopes up I won't be looking that diligently...
Also the link that I posted which was rompnit ( probably the link that you're talking about) , I was able to download in roughly 30 to 45 minutes. I posted it in this thread a couple days ago..
