Help Boost speaker volume

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Is there any app, plug in, driver that actually works at increasing speaker volume without changing my kernel (franco)?
It's driving me nuts since my portable speakers died.
Putting all equaliser frequencies to max in DSB manager or Equalizer seems to have zero effect on this device nor volume booster apps on Play.
Anyone?
I'll love you forever :D:beer:

Hey mate, this is for the nexus 5, but curious if there is a similar, editable file for n7??

http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...s/mod-headphone-speaker-volume-boost-t2532788

Post 2 describes the manual method and file that gets edited. It totally works though on the n5; it literally raises the max volume levels above the stock limits.

For example the stock speaker level is set at 88 I believe and the flashable zip sets it to 93.

This may not be an option at all for you, but I thought you could see if that same file or a similar editable file exists.

Viper made my volume kind of distorted when I used it, unfortunately :(

What quality of driver did u install bro? Like there's Super, High, and,Normal or something. I went from the top one to the middle one and find it best on n7.
I really only want it for watching movies, vids ect that are too quiet over the speaker.
If I plug into my sound system I turn it off and use PowerAmp or the hifi amp's settings.
On my phone I don't even use a driver. PowerAmp is fine for the type of choons I listen through earbuds anyway

I mean I don't really remember because it came pre-installed on an old Galaxy Nexus ROM I used, and it just really didn't do much for me :o

I use the highest quality driver on my n5 funky. I only use it for short bursts in my car normally but I'm happy with the sound.

Be careful to not abuse your N7 speakers, they are tiny and fragile, I ruined my N7's speakers after a couple of weeks by playing games with volume at maximum.

Fortunately I were able to replace the speakers with a set of used speakers I bought from eBay.

Use earphones or external speakers if possible.

Thanks mate yeah they sound flimsy. Had a great old Nokia external speakers unit we used for movies but instead of just putting duct tape over the annoying LED, smartass had to open the thing up and now it makes theremone noises. Kinda cool but useless :D

PS is it dual speakers inside (stereo)? Or just the one?

I believe it's stereo, the cable has three wires, red, white and black.
