This ICS boot animation was originally a much bigger file but it has been optimized to run smoothly on all LG Optimus One P500, and P500 based phones. LG Optimus: (One, M, S, U, V, T, C, etc.)

Those of you who are using ICS themes for your home launcher, or CM7 theme chooser, can use this bootanimation to add to the look and feel of ICS on your optimus. It looks pretty neat, give it a try :)

Installation: This zip is not flashable, to install it put it in your system/media folder or your data/local folder (whichever one you prefer) using a root capable file manager such as Root Explorer, ES File Explorer, etc.

If anyone plans on using this, all I ask is for you to click the "thanks" button.

Enjoy!

you dont flash it in recovery. you have to put it in the data/local/ folder from root explorer. make sure that it is named bootanimation.zip and overwrite the original one. then reboot and enjoy. :)

Rock on! That worked. Thanks P-Bot!

haha just hit the thanks button

On the title of the thread put [boot animation] in from of the name. It makes the list if threads look better and lets people know what it is easier. ;) nice work on the boot anim..ill be using this sucker as the boot animation in the next release on my 2.2.2 rom, since the theme is ICS.lol

Yea I thought about adding that to the thread title while making this thread but I didn't do it because I didn't think it was anything big such as a ROM or anything haha.. but im going to go ahead and add it.

And feel free to use it, all I ask for is a simple link back to this thread :)

System /bin/bootanimation...is that the same file?

The zip should should go in your system/media folder or data/local/ folder using a root capable file manager.

I'll update the OP to add directions to install it so people wont get confused on how exactly to install it.

The bootanimation is in Absolute System ;)

You will find this Boot Animation all over the internet, not just "absolute system" (Whatever that is suppose to be).

Don't jump to conclusions, trying to imply I stole it because that's what it seems like to me. I never took credit for making this BootAnimation because I did not make it, the people over at samsung did. However, you will see many variations of this boot animation and they are much bigger in size up to 7MB while mine is only 414KB in size.

As I said mine is optimized for performance as it is smaller in size and runs smoothly on phones such as the LG Optimus. All the images have been scaled down to 236x420 where in the one that I optimized from the size is 360x640. So I hope you can see the difference there. This is not rocket science, anyone can do this.

If you want, here is the one I optimized: bootanimation.zip Notice the size of the file, compared to the size of mine.. notice the difference.

Judge for yourself ;)

Your sizing is a little off

it doesnt seem like hes implying anything...absolute system has a wide variety of boot animations including this one..it also has a boot animation editor...so its easier to "optimize for performance" maybe you should look into it..;)

Your sizing is a little off

I know that, it doesn't loose much quality because of the smaller size in dimensions while it remains fast and smooth. It will fit in perfectly with the screen resolution as I have it set to the dimensions of the LG Optimus screen which is 320x480 in the doc.txt

Yea I just looked into, what it basically does is allow you to install the boot animation from there and as far as optimization goes, there isn't any optimization in absolute system.

You basically change the resolution values from the boot animation editor which then edits the the desc.txt file with the resolution values so that the boot animation fits your screen but originally the images still stay the same size at the same resolution... while what I have done is hard resized the images to make them smaller in resolution and in size instead of just setting up values in the desc.txt ;)

Don't know any better way of explaining this too you, so I hope you get the point.

Im not implying anything. I just stated its in Absolute System Root Tools. Just saying. Not trying to have what they call "face off".

haha lets not replay what happened in the ICS ALPHA thread. but anyway...how did you optimize it? im curious to learn haow to make bigger boot animiation files run smoother on my optimus :) great work by the way im impressed.

I don't notice any faster load time for boot, but it does complement Kelso's ICS theme and p-bOt's ICS Mint theme nicely.

Very good work Kaiser.

From the description above the actual image files have been physically resized rather than merely scaled to fit. Smaller files = faster load, smoother animation and less memory used.

hmmm...thats weird because every time i have tried to resize images when i zip the folder back up it wont play...what am i doing wrong?
