Root Boot Animation on Froyo not Changing

I cant change the boot animation on 2. froyo. it shows up with a black screen on boot up. I know the boot animation in at system/customize/resources. I know im doing every thing right. Even if i change just one frame in the boot animation, it shows up with a black screen on boot up. Help me.

I place my boot animation in /data/local and it works like a champ. I'm using the stock 2.1 ROM though. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Did you make sure you selected "Store" in WinRAR and are not compressing it?

what ROM are you using ??
