Root Boot Animations

Going through the CM7 thread, it's probably actually a good idea to start up a new thread just for boot animations. Like someone else said, there are a million boot animations out there but most of them are pretty tacky. So what you do you guys use?

Personally, I use AndroidParticles2 which can be found in the following thread:
[BOOT ANIMATION] The Droids - xda-developers

I posted this in the CM7 thread, but it makes sense to post it here as well. I've been using this. I usually never change my boot ani's because most of them are incredibly cheesy. This one is really nice and the color scheme goes perfectly when running CM7.

Android. Custom Boot Animation. Like A Boss | rasdroid

Please don't try and flash this zip in recovery. Rename it to bootanimation.zip and move it to system/media

I like this one.

Has anyone used this yet? I got it in the media folder but what's next LOL

So I just go into my file manager rename the whole file i downloaded as
Bootanimation.zip
Do you have to flash or does it just do it?
I'm running bamf cubed ROM, its sense based

Don't rename, extract the file you download and move the resulting bootanimation.zip to your system/media folder. You will probably need root explorer or es file explorer to change the permissions of the media folder from R/O to R/W as well.

I'll do it tonight and try to get it working ill let ya know what happens. I use astro right now but ill switch if I need to

How do you replace the shutdown animation?

Did you try this
Shutdown animation exists as a sequence of PNG files in /system/media/video/shutdown so this zip will simply copy the image files there. HOWEVER, since this is not simply replacing one file like the boot animation, if you currently have a shutdown animation this zip you should delete the folder using your root accessible file manager of choice (unsolicited advertisement: Root Explorer does very well with read/write permissions and is totally worth the purchase) or adb the folder out of there. If you flash over an existing PNG sequence it may be prone to weird flashing and stuttering.

I've never thought about my shutdown animation or if I even have one so I can't really give much input about it.

I'm using CM7 (currently on 7.1.1), but through all the RCs and prior CM versions on other phones, I've always just named it bootanimation.zip and placed it into the /system/media (create the directory if you have to) and it's worked for me.
