Root Boot animations

Is it possible to get custom boot animations to work on this phone? I checked, and just about all tutorials are for Samsung devices.

You can but be warned you might brick. Do it manually (I had bad experience on the kyocera rise with changing boot animation)

I should probably not mess with it then...already bricked one of these phones.

Does anyone see the T-Mobile boot animation at startup, or just the T-Mobile logo? I just see the logo with no animation.

I figured out how to get the boot animation to work. I went to custpack/JRD_custres/media and renamed the bootanimation.gif to disable it. Disabling that got the bootanimation.zip to work, somehow. I did the same for the shutdown_animation.gif and now I see the shutdown animation.
