Root Bootloader has been UNLOCKED!

I don't have 4G in my area, but after rooting I am able to enable 4G and scan for a signal. Early reports stated they could not enable the 4G at all. A reboot seems to fix the issue.

Now that I have rooted the Photon, if I want to restore a locked bootloader, how would I do that?

I don't currently have 4G in my area so I am not currently concerned with possible loss of 4G service.

Thank you for your insights.

So basically rooting the phone allows you to run apps that require a root and such, but unlocking the bootloader would allow you to run different roms?

i need help with this... i tried running this several times.

i press the power button and up button to RSD mode on the phone
load up RSD and unzip pudding
select ... and select pudding
it loads 100% twice, then fails.

i get a message that says "failed flashing process. Phone (0000) The "secure motorola flash" interface could not be found. the super file is not secure and not for reflash

That and custom recovery, kernels etc.

I'm following this conversation and just want to confirm what I am reading. I promise I'm not an idiot, really...but I just want to confirm as of today:

If I root only and don't yet mess with the bootloader, I should be able to run WiFi tether, Battery Calibration, etc...basically apps that require root.

I've always rooted my Androids and flashed custom ROMs. Picked up a Photon and am not in a hurry to flash custom ROMs, but I do want my WiFi tether back.

Thanks!
