Root bootlooping after nandroid

So I made a nandroid backup of my old AWE. I got a replacement AWE from VM and I rooted and put CWM on it. I wiped Data/Factory Rest then I restored the backup. I rebooted to the system. It starts up the green android shows then it shuts off and reboots

Anyway to fix this?

activating wouldnt matter
i havent activated mines due to not being on virgin mobile (i have a boost account tho)

if anything that means something pre-ROM is failing. if it gets to the green android its gotten to aboot (primary bootloader we all know and hate at the same time), so its prolly kernel related since boot is next in the chain. somethings prolly corrupt. try restoring kernel or flashing a custom one and then restoring stock kernel.

In my impatients I deleted that nandroid I'm going to make a new one. So should i just flash another kernel after I'm done restoring the phone?

Either flash a custom rom or revert to stock rom that will restore the kernel, note that this will delete all user data and factory reset the phone
