If I bought it, what do I do with it? Run it right away, or wait till I am bricked?

Run it to create a nandroid backup of your Droid X system and files. The backup can be used to restore the system if you do something that makes it unstable or make a change that you don't like. This program won't help if the phone is truly bricked.

Run the program, select "Bootstrap Recovery", select the "OK" when it pops up and then select "Reboot Recovery". The DX will reboot and go to recovery. From there you can select backup (use volume button to go and down the list and camera button to select). The backup will take a few minutes. After the backup is completed, just select the reboot option (it will be first on the list) and the DX will reboot normally.

Ran Bootstrap recovery selected "ok" but when I select reboot recovery my X won't try to reboot. Anyone else having this issue?

I think it will only boot into the recovery mode if you select "bootstrap recovery" first from the app. From his website

"When the hijacker runs, it will automatically create the "/data/.recovery_mode" file after it finishes. This tells the system that the next time it boots, it should boot into recovery. But, when the system starts, the Droid X Recovery Bootstrap will then delete that file when Android is fully started, to prevent you from booting into recovery. "

Thanks. Just did a nandroid backup... Though I'm a little hesitant to try a restore... Anyone else tried it yet?

Im having the same problem. ill hit "Bookstrap Recovery" and it come up saying "Success!" then ill hit "Reboot Recovery" and nothing happens...
