Help Bottom buttons as notification LED?

Since the Optimus doesn't have a LED light is there anyway to turn on any of the bottom buttons to turn on when you receive a text or a miss call? Thanks a lot guys, love the forum!

I am using NoLED. After some playing around with the settings, and the latest update, it's working like a champ.

Those apps turn on the screen, which kills the battery and doesn't answer the OP's question... ;-P

they put icons on the screen but do not turn on the screen where you can see the desktop ,what i have found is for the most part there are very helpful and nice users on android forums, but their are quite a few, know it all's,fanboys, and of coarse the forum police who have to be rude and either tell you not to post something because it has been posted before use the search,or like this reply saying we did not answer the original question.

I've been using the no led app and I haven't noticed any extra battery drainage at all...

This.

The on screen LED is so small, it should have almost no effect on battery life.

I know of nothing that lights up the hard press keys at the bottom of the phone.

You can adjust the size of the icons, and change colors.

Fellas, if you can see anything anywhere on the screen, then the whole screen is on and all the backlights are on. That is how transmissive LCD screens work. The rest of the screen is black, but that's because the LCD is blocking the light from coming through the screen. So whether the whole screen is white or just one pixel is showing through, roughly the same amount of power is being used. Read more here:

It would be another matter if we had an organic LED (OLED) screen, but we have a TFT LCD screen.

KeyLights-0.2.apk does exactly what the OP is looking for, as I was looking for the same thing and came across it from another forum.

That is excellent. Looks like development has stopped and no source code to keep it going, however. :(

Our mistake, you want the Nobel peace prize now or should we wait for another one of your intelligent posts.

I thought lou61166 made a good point since battery life is a pretty big concern. Maybe using No Led combined with Juice Defender would be a good combination, giving visible notification and also decent battery life.

Geez, you almost don't even have to put your location. I could've guessed by your posts.

And I'm not sure why he would get the nobel peace prize for any of his posts...

It is a very effective combination; however, there are naysayers about Juice Defender that think it is a placebo or a "belief". It really does work well with NoLed.

Just being sarcastic, way to many arrogant Know it alls.

Are you suggesting my post was arrogant? Are you suggesting that giving wrong answers and being ignorant is better? Do you think sarcastic insults thrown at people you don't even know will distract people from your mistakes?

Try pm'ing ...id really rather not read that crap on here. And before you say "stop reading it then"...I'm trying to learn stuff about my phone; why would I not read a post in a forum about the phone I have...

Ah ok. I didn't think to check if it needed to be or not. Either way I'm ok with the noled app for now unless it starts giving me problems. I just wanted to test keylights
