Root bought used xoom, is it rooted?

How can I tell if the Xoom I just picked up used is rooted?
It wont load the 3.1 update, tried three time now...
Im guessing it's because the Xoom I have isnt completely stock and has been modded, but I dont know how to tell and how to get back to stock...
