Help Bought with custom firmware - How do I get flash support?

Hello!

I would like my cell phone to support flash, but I don't manage to upgrade to Android 2.2.
I bought a Motorola DROID with Itfunz2.1_Eclipse_Terminator_II_Final firmware (I think that firmware adds Chinese support, but I prefer English anyway). According to my phone's update button and also the Motorola Software and Diagnostics web page, no updates are available for my phone.

Is that because of the custom firmware? Is China's update server not working correctly?

Now I'm thinking about how best to deal with this issue. Is there any way for me to download and install the official Android 2.2 firmware? Or is it better to wait until Itfunz2.2 comes out? Is there any other way to add Flash support?

Best advice when it comes to custom roms is to head over to the XDA Developers forum and check the right page for your phone. I have no experience with the Droid but if there are roms to be had (stock, custom, 2.2 or whatever), you'll find them there along with instructions on how to use them.

Better yet - verify you have an A855 (and not an 854 or 853) and then Flash your own stock 2.x onto the phone - see http://androidforums.com/droid-all-things-root/136508-guide-all-things-root-related.html, specifically the section titled How to revert back to Stock 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1, or 2.2 (click the little 'show' link underneath).

Thanks for the link, johnlgalt! The process didn't fully work for me, the flashing process failed with the error Phone is not compatible with multi-interface super-file.
