Root BP Pass Through Failed FIXED, NOW IN BOOTLOOP!!

I just booted into recovery to see if I got some sort of error at the bottom... I thought on Froyo I remember seeing that too. All I can do is recomend another SBF for good measure and then wipe data/cache again... no reason you should be having these problems after a SBF... just weird.

In the middle of another SBF right now my man. I'll report back in about 10 mins after it finishes.

By the way, thanks for all the replies and congratulations on getting smoke free!!!

EDIT. And... still boot looping.

So I've SBFed twice using my Linux cd. My bootloader screen no longer says code corrupt so I'm pretty sure it was successful.

I hold home/power, hit search, then wipe data/cache. I did it using the menu button for ok and tried it also hitting the camera button for ok. Then hit reboot system now, and still goes to the bootloader screen. HELP

anyone? I'd really like to get this thing up an running tonight. I cannot get this thing past the bootloader screen and it's driving me crazy.

Recovery still says:

E:Can't mount CACHE :recovery/command
E:Can't mount CACHE :recovery/log

are you leaving it plugged into the computer or rebooting off life support? I always disconnect after the SBF finishes and it goes to "M" on the phone screen

You learn new things everyday... I didn't know you could even use the menu button to select things in recovery. I'm sorry you're having such a bad problem. I usually say that you can't totally mess up a DX to the point you can't recover it. But your phone may have more problems than software, you might have a hardware problem.

I'm rebooting disconnected. Just tried it again this morning for the heck of it, still can't get past the bootloader screen.

SimsDelt - I guess I'm the exception that proves the rule.

guys, i think i just screwed myself. I have the same issue this morning.

i will first give a breif history of phone.

Droid X
originally bought with 2.2
bootstrapped, and tried BG 4.5.591
SBF'd back to 2.2 stock

this morning recieved a notification to upgrade to official GB. but when i tried to install, it didnt let me. it failed. so i decided to SBF to stock 2.2 from stock 2.2

and during SBF i recieve the same message about cannot switch phone to BP pass through mode, and the SBF fails. is my phone bricked now?

***UPDATE***

i downloaded RSD lite 4.9 and also changed USB ports on my computer. instead of using front panel USB, i plugged it into USB on the I/O panel. now there is progress. the SBF is currently running, i will come back with an update if my phone is working.

well this is extremely weird.

first SBF attempt failed. second was successful, and upon reboot of phone, none of my settings are gone. as if the SBF was not done. all my files, settings, everything is identically as it was before the SBF.

at least im out of the "failed BP pass through"

have you checked the MD5 sum on the SBF you are using.
It should be file name: VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01
MD5: 48c0d5cb3805497a6cbaf120dfb63002

After you sbf, boot it once, power it down and do a factory reset, you should be good from there.

Well I just took it in to my local Verizon. They tried everything they could, and had the same luck I did. Still stuck on bootloader. They're shipping me a new one as a free warranty replacement since my software is corrupt. Oh well.

Damn, I really wonder what the deal was. SFBing has caused me a little bit of trouble once but only once. I wish you the best of luck with the replacement.
