Root Bricked device because of modified build.prop

Okay, long story short, I modified the build.prop file on my tablet (I have a GT-P6210 USA 16GB Wifi Tablet) and thought I replaced it with a backed-up version, but apparently that didn't work properly because now my tablet won't go past the "Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus" splash screen. It won't even load the Samsung logo. Flashing stock firmware with Odin does not fix it and trying to use the factory restore option in manual mode just causes the device to restart itself in the middle of wiping and nothing ends up getting wiped.


Is there a way to push a clean build.prop file onto my tablet using maybe a zip file? I can still access Odin mode and manual mode and I do have my device rooted and I can use the .zip-based ClockworkMod Recovery.


Can anyone supply me with an unmodded build.prop file for this device and tell me what I can do to put it onto the device so I can unbrick it?

Just throwing this out there, but are there roms available for your device that you can flash via recovery?
I am surprised that installing the firmware thru ODIN did not fix it. **thinking, scratching head**

Thank you for the swift reply! Perhaps I was installing the wrong rom? Where can I find the OFFICIAL ICS rom for the 16GB USA GT-P6210?

I'll try installing honeycomb instead of ICS, maybe that will work. I won't do the method in there, I'm sticking to ODIN.

I was just curious on what carrier you had so that the firmware flashed via ODIN was correct

While that may be true, I don't think you can just use any build.prop for your device.
One rom's build.prop may differ from another, which may be different than stock.

I really am not sure just taking the build prop from that link and somehow putting on your device will work.

Granted I am not totally familiar with your device, I recommend finding either a rom to flash via recovery, or firmware flashed via ODIN to get your device up and running.

Well, I imagine that with that being a stock ROM (albeit rooted) designed to be used on my device, the build.prop should work. I will flash this via recovery when I get home and tell you how it went.

Sorry, I thought you meant that you were going to extract the build.prop file from the download, and somehow install it on the device

Okay, so neither link was useful as one was broken and the other was an update, which meant I could not install it. I have a fully functioning backup from before I modified build.prop but when im restoring through clockworkmod recovery, the device just restarts while its supposed to be restoring and just gets stuck back on the Galaxy Tab logo. What do I do?
