The problem is that it wont even reboot into recovery.

So pull battery and put back in. Now hold down power and volume down at the same time until the factoryvresetvscreen comes on. Try it. I bricked mine last night.

You don't know how many times I've tried to hold down the power and volume. It doesnt work. :(

There are two types of recovery mode. Standard Recovery Mode, which is the one Krazee mentioned, and then there is Download Mode which requires the use of a computer.

In Standard Recovery Mode, the phone deletes all of the present user data and it wipes out the dalvik cache, restoring its ROM to the default factory settings it shipped from the manufacturer/phone company.

In Download Mode, a brand new ROM has to be downloaded using the proper support tool depending on the phone's manufacturer. In this case, the manufacturer is LG, so you will be needing the LgMobile Update Support utility found in their website. Upon opening this tool, it will detect your phone in Download Mode and check for the latest ROM available. It will then begin to download it from the internet and flash it onto your phone. Obviously, this method will unroot you, so you will have to re-root and instal cwm before restoring from a nandroid.

To Access Standard Recovery Mode - While the phone is off, hold down the volume down + power key until the Factory Reset Screen appears.

To Access Download Mode - Press the volume up and volume down key at the same time and, while keeping them pressed, connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable. Wait a few seconds and then the phone will be in download mode. It will prompt you not to disconnect your phone because a download is in progress. (Which is not true unless you actually do it through the LGMobile Support Tool.) Open the tool, it will detect your phone and find the latest ROM for it. Let it do its thing and you should be good to go. :)

Good luck. :D

Thanks for all the information. I will try it tomorrow, but thanks for helping me.

Are you the one that posted in the #2 thread about bricking about a week ago?

Just take it back to metro. I doubt any method will unbrick it. It's not like it's a soft brick. You hard bricked. Never ever flash a rom of kernel that isn't for your phone.

^^ Yah, try the various unbricking methods but ultimately your probably gonna have to take it back to Metro. Just take out or backup/wipe your memory stick so theres no evidence YOU downloaded the false ROM and tell them something went wrong when you tried to update it. Their not gonna be able to prove it was you.

Smart. I like the way you think.

Got a new lg connect. Metro swapped it for ten bucks. I'm sure as hell not going to make that stupid mistake again.
