Root Bricked?

Mayhem

Android Expert
I had das BAMF Cubed 1.09 installed and was using the stock kernel. I got a wild hair and decided to flash a kernel using kernel manager. The system rebooted to a blank screen.

I rebooted into recovery and did a factory reset. Booted again to a blank screen.

I can see that the screen is actually on (I can see the light difference between when the battery is in vs. when it's not) and when I called it, I wasn't immediately kicked into voicemail. However, it never rang either.

:(

Did I FUBAR it?

I don't think so...did you wipe cache and dalvik cache, wipe all data, and format/ system? and then reflash another rom?

Follow jivens716 instructions. If you're able to get to recovery, you are not bricked. Bricked means you can't get to anything including bootloader and recovery.

Yeah, fortunately I keep a folder called /ROMs on my sd card and was able to flash back to 1.08. Once it's done running through everything from the first boot, I'll be able to flash the 1.09 upgrade.

*Whew* Just when I thought my week couldn't get any worse..

Thanks for your help!
