Bright sunlight a problem

New owner of Galaxy Rugby Pro, and a total noob to these kinds of phones.

It is almost impossible to view the screen in bright sunlight. Is this normal or is there some setting to make the screen brighter or easier to see outdoors in the sunshine?

In the bright sun you can jack the light bar all the way up and it will still be difficult to see so the only recourse is "find a shade tree."

The Rugby isn't unique, my wife's Galaxy Express has the same limitation

It is an issue with the LCD panel, even if you fiddle with the drivers and lower level bits you will still get some amount of wash out / issues.

It is an inherent problem to the OLED panels from Samsung...
