Brightness control from notification bar

I accidentally discovered a way to control brightness from the notification bar on my DC. If you long press the upper left of the notification bar you go to full brightness. If you long press the right side of the notification bar it goes to dim. You can also long press anywhere on the bar and slide brightness up and down. I have not heard of this and it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere.

yes, i read this on the XDA forums awhile ago. I think someone said its in the user's manual.

This feature only works if auto-brightness is turned off, ie: the brightness never fluctuates on its own.
