Hiya.

Can anybody recommend a Widget for Brightness level that I can stick on my Home Page. CurveFish do one but it does not seem to work on Hero at the moment. Thanks

hmm....still cannot find a Brightness Widget that works on Hero (cupcake-not rooted) Have disabled auto backlight. Anybody please?

"Brightness Toggle Widget" - works on my Hero - build 2.73.405.5

Setting it to 0%, its still bright enough to read....
Thanks STandroid, will try it again. Hate to think though if you can still read with it set to 0% what 100% will be like :p

Nope...does not work :( When I press it reacts but then goes back to my phones default brightness.

I so would like one that works as I change my brightness a lot, playing a game, daylight, night time.

Just wanted to let folks know that I just released an app called Brightness Rocker which lets you adjust screen brightness from any app. You can just press the volume buttons and that will display a brightness control, no matter what app you're in. Brightness Rocker also includes a home-screen widget and notification bar icon for controlling brightness.

It comes in Lite (free) and Pro versions, both available on the Android Market. More info can be found at Brightness Rocker for Android - by Nikhil Bhatla.

I haven't tested it specifically on a Hero, but I've tested it and it works on thew HTC Evo, HTC Aria, Nexus One, and G1.

Hopefully some people will find this useful. Works best in Android 2.2, and more slowly in Android 1.5-2.1.
