Brightness outside

As much as i love my Note 2 i cant help but be disappointed in the lack of brightness level while i am outside, i use it as a golf gps and it is very tough to see on a sunny day, any ideas on how to improve this?

That as always been my gripe cannot see the screen in bright sunshine even with my sunglasses on......all these phones are the same a dull day and interiors of buildings the screen is absolutely great but outdoor as far as I am concerned they are no good and no one will convince me that they are, maybe someone could invent a small black fold up screen to clip around the screen

Another trick is to check AUTO instead of turning brightness all the way up. Under full sun, checking AUTO is actually a tiny bit brighter than manual full brightness.

I found that other phones with IPS screen do better under bright sun than our phones.

I also read on another forum to put the screen mode on natural. As well as auto brightness

You could move to the uk where the weather is almost always dull

Agreed. I just started using my note 2 as my main GPS on my car but it's very hard to see while driving. ..
