Brightness screen widget

Since no one is working this thread i might as well start.

I found a great widget for managing your screens brightness levels with literally two button touches.

Its simply called "brightness level".

It has pre set settings at 25% intervals and a slider. You can set to automatically close after making your selection and its literally two screen taps to change the brightness setting (rather than fumbling around in the settings menu).

After manually messing with the brightness when indoors or outdoors, I gave up and just let the phone do it via "automatic."

This is a great widget. I use to keep my phone on auto and it WAS killing my battery. After getting this widget and keeping it at 25% while indoors I am able to make it through the entire day on a charge. I was not in my office today and had to have it at 100% for some time today and noticed the battery did not last as long. Makes sense though that big of screen take alot to power. I think many who complain about battery life have their phone set to auto bright.

Thank You! Just got this phone on Saturday and I'm loving it, previously had the extremely boring BB Curve 8900.

If the screen is X brightness, the battery doesn't know the difference about how it got there. If you manually set it to 100% brightness in order to see it outside, having the phone set brightness automatically means there's zero difference on power consumption. Granted, indoors you can set it dimmer than the auto setting, but I found for comfortable viewing, my manual setting ended up not much different than where "auto" set it.

FWIW, I'm perfectly happy with my battery life, and my display is set to "auto" brightness. :p

I just use the built in HTC widget....it has three different brightness settings which are good enough for me.

I use beautiful widgets toggle to set it from 20% to 100%. You set your level to the lowest value you want it at say 20% the hit 1 button and its at 100% and hit it again its back to 20%. Right on your home screen and only 1 click.
