Help broken charge port

my charger port rarely works anymore. i took it into a verizon store to have it checked out. they told me that i had to pay the $90 for the warranty to fix it. i was wondering what the best way to get a refurb was. i'm trying to save my warranty for either a lost phone or something more serious. thanks

warranty replacements are free(which a broken charger port should be covered under, unless it appears malicious), insurance is $90 and I'm pretty sure you can claim 2 a year.

Yup...just tell them repeatedly that it's normal wear and tear.

What is the warranty on the incredible(or any phone for that matter)? This would be a manufacturer warranty correct???

Affirmative...it's a manufacturer warranty administrated through Verizon. The coverage is from HTC but you go through Verizon to use it.

i tried it that way but they kept insisting that i had to file a claim and pay the deductible. is there any other way that i could get a new phone? maybe something software related?
