Accessories Broken headset

Hey people,

The cable for the headset that came with my Nexus S is getting screwy; unless I hold it in a particular way, the right-side sound is missing. Any easy fix for this?
Alternatively: The phone was purchased less than a year ago (from an international US reseller). Any chance the headset will be covered by the warranty?

I too am facing the same problem, got my nexus S 6 months back but now earphones are not working properly
