Help Broken lockscreen?

erisftw15

Newbie
so recently my DX has been giving me fits ever since the GB update
from not working right after coming out of sleep to having horrible connection

the latest issue im having is the lockscreen is completely gone
when i press the power button it acts like its going to bring it up but then it goes straight to wat i was doing

anyone else having this problem?
any solutions?

If you're talking about the screen unlock where you swipe to the right, I'm not having that problem, but I've read in another forum where at least a couple of people were having this issue. No known fix yet but I suggested last night that they try adding the app NoLock to their phone. It's a simple app that toggles between Locking Enabled and Locking Disabled. If you use the Locking Enabled setting, it might bring up the swipe unlock screen.

It doesn't. It seems like it wants to work by showing the slide bar for a split second and just bypasses it. I haven't downloaded anything or changed any settings until this happened. Not rooted or anything.

The other forum poster said it didn't work for them either. I'm stock unrooted and don't have the problem, so don't know what else to suggest. Typically, when I have bugs like this I will in order:
1) Power cycle and battery pull
2) Start phone in Safe Mode
3) Perform a cache partition wipe
4) Perform a total clean reset

Although a lengthy process, the factory reset has solved the problem. now comes the wait as all my apps and settings are restored.

In the long run, I think you'll be happy you did. I did a factory reset after Froyo and GB and one or two in between. Whenever I've done one, any bugs I had before are gone and the phone operates faster and more reliably.
