Broken screen: Solution for getting files, text messages and contacts

Hi Droid community.

I wanted to share this solution my husband and I troubleshooted for a week while trying to get my text messages off my LG G2 with a screen that was black, BUT still has touch functions.
I had dropped the phone in my coffee (about 1-2 seconds), dried it and then a few hours later, the headphone jack was popping up (nothing connected tough), notification lights were flashing, the screen went black, and there was no service.

There were other trials that didn't work, Miracast and Micro USB to HDMI.
What we did worked great and was very quick (once we figured it out).

I hope it helps others with the same problem.

I have Google backup turned on so all my contacts and photos are automatically backed up. I use a third party app that backs up my texts to my GMail account. Other files are stored on my SD card and I use LG's built in back up to back it up to the cloud. Much better than having to deal with all those hoops.

there is an app which lets you fully control your android from the windows pc.

It is called MirrorOP. Receiver should be installed on the phone and sender on the PC.
