Brought my phone into the pool

stick it in a bag of dry rice for a week, replace the rice if it gets wet. Don't try to turn it on until after the week has passed. I heard that may help it to work.
 
I know it sounds crazy but I would immediately put the phone in a ziplock bag full of rice. Completely submerge the phone in the rice, with the battery out and the battery cover off the phone. I read some posts about doing this and people had positive reviews and said it worked.
My aunt dropped her iphone in the bath tub and I told her to do it and the next morning it was working again without 1 issue. You would be surprised and it never hurts to try, especially at this point. Good luck.
 
Dont try and turn on! Pull the battery, put the cell and battery in a ziplock bag, change rice every day for 7 days, then turn on. My sons ipod touch got washed, and this rice trial worked!
 
How long was it in the pool for?

If the water got in deep enough your phone is not repairable.
 
To my knowledge you can add insurance anytime within the first 30 days. Call and ask, but i wouldn't mention it already took a swim.

Sorry to hear about the phone. I assume it was on when you took it for a dip, right? If so, that may hurt your chances, but try the rice trick anyway for sure and keep us posted. Good luck!
 
If the rice doesn't work, take it apart the most and best u can. Apply a thin coat of alcohol with a paint brush , with enough pressure to clean, on all circuits u can. Air dry.
 
my wife left her blackberry in the washer machine once, we tried all the drying tricks nothing worked...

i did after a few days completely dismantled the phone and found all, and i mean ALL, the little pink stickers and replaced them with white ones and replaced the little void sticker with one i printed out on sticker paper and put the phone back together and then made a regular warranty claim...worked perfect and i my wife was allowed to stay married to me! win win!
