Browser in desktop mode

Anyone know how to make it default to Desktop Mode when browsing the internet? I tried this 'about:debug', settings, debug, UAStrings, but it never seems to stick.

Varies. Googlemail & Hotmail reverts to mobile view. Googlemail is fine on Firefox 4. I ended up using Dolphin HD. They all work proper in that, so I recommend that browser.

Getting the same issues with hotmail but I find the mobile site works far better than the full site anyway, notice even on a desktop hotmail can be funny on anything other than IE.

Googlemails not an issue as the gmail app is spot on.

will try firefox for a bit but have to say I'm getting to like the stock browser with the added side pop out, very useful. Dolphin HD kept force closing or just not opening after a while so binned that.

I'm getting sick of the same thing, my online banking will only open in mobile mode which stops me from making transfers etc. Also countless other shops websites are in mobile view. Never a problem on my desire as it has the option to uncheck mobile viewing so I can't understand why they wouldnt keep that option on a device with a bigger screen?

I've noticed that if I leave the debug mode on sites open in the full version. Amazon.co.uk always opens to the mobile site for me even if the UA is set to desktop however if I just turn on debug and try to launch Amazon it goes to the full version. The same with hotmail.

I'll be leaving debug on for the time being and see if any other sites still go to mobile.
