Help Browser problems after 4.3

Lurker
Well, first time posting so i hope that i'm doing this right.

I have a SGS3 and finally the operator over here gave us the 4.3 android version and since then that i'm having problems with the browsers.

- Youtube embebbed videos don't show up on the pages, on the stock browser it appears a window saying "Connection problem. There was a network error" and where it was supposed to be the youtube "space" it appears like a webpage saying "webpage not available" etc.
In other browsers the problem is the same, it doesn't load up the youtube embebbed video, i can click on it and see the video on the youtube app but not in the browser.

- In some forum it's appearing the threads as they were read, it happens on the stock browser and firefox but in the Chrome and Dolphin i don't have that problem.

- In other forum it has some letter size problems, some comments are normal but others have a bigger size text (and i checked on the pc, it only has that problem on the phone browser).

I have cleared the cache/cookies and the data on the internet app, the problem still remains. I'm searching for this kind of problems on google and i know that the 4.3 have some problems with the SGS3 but i'm not seeing others with this kind of problems so i guess it's on my end?

Sorry for the rough english (terrible night sleep and not my native language) and for the lack of knowledge, i'm probably missing some technical information that could help.

Seems that the 'fix all' for S3 upgrade problems is to do a factory reset.

Make sure you back up all your important stuff first though.

The rest of it is due to the fact that the S3 4.3 update was mostly a bug with a little code added. It's got a random number generator in it too, so everyone gets different bugs. (I'm not kidding - read through some of the posts from back when it was first released.)

Aside from a factory reset (which shouldn't be necessary for an update, even a major one), you'll just have to wait for the release of 4.3.2 or whatever the bug fix will be called by the time they figure out what all the bugs are. (And that might be by 11.3.5, not 4.anything.)

Thanks for the answers.

So, my best bet is to do a factory reset and wait for a new update? Uhm... In terms of probability, how would you rate the possibility of the factory reset not working or bringing new problems? I'm asking because this problem (browser) is annoying and just that, the idead of having to download and reinstall everything again for nothing or even make everything worse is terrible, i can live with the browser problems until a new update appears...

A reset certainly wont make anything worse but if thats the only problem youre having, personally, i wouldnt bother

Welcome to the forum by the way and your english is excellent :)

Yeah, i think i'll wait a little more and if it bothers too much then i'll do the factory reset otherwise i'll just wait and if i'm lucky the update will fix it and i'll apreciate even more the updates as in "OMG, this update made my browser better than it was before".

Just a final question, do any of you think that the lack of flash (if i read it correctly, flash was removed in 4.3) or some kind of bug on the javascrip might be related with this problem?

Welcome to the forum by the way and your english is excellent :)

Thank you! :)

I think flash officially stopped supporting android at 4.1.
Do you have Adobe Flash app installed?
If you sideload the flash app it still works until you get to 4.4 kitkat

Is there any kind of AF app on the play store or are you talking about going to the archives of Adobe Flash and downloading the older version? I tried the last one but alas, it is to no avail.
Meh, going to do what what i previously said, gonna wait for the next update and "endure" this problem. Thanks for the help.

I have this same issue. I have flash installed and using dolphin browser. I've cleared data, history, cache, and cookies. Still no go, so I too will wait for the new update. Besides this, it is still a great phone.

Should be noted as a reminder that Flash has always been something of a security issue (for computers, tablets, and phones) and now that Adobe no longer even supports Flash for Android, the level of stability and security risks becomes even more of an issue. You'll be manually installing an out-of-date version so just keep that in mind in your day to day phone browsing.
Also, don't forget to go to YouTube in your browser(s) to enable a cookie to prefer html5 when possible.

I didnt find that option but i already learned how to live with this problem so it's not a big deal, on the other hand, kind of offtopic, is there an option to reduce the brightness of Chrome browser? It's eating my battery like crazy.
