Help Browser Questions

Hi all,

New EVO user (just a week old, upgraded from the Pre, loving it), and had a few questions about browsers that I've searched and searched for the answers for, but haven't been able to find anything.

I've been playing with a bunch of different browsers, but really like the stock browser for the most part. The only thing I really wish it had were tabs instead of multiple windows, which brings me to my first question - when I have multiple windows open, but then I go out of the browser and into another app, and then return to the browser, they're all gone except for one - any way to "save" the windows so when you return to the browser they'll still there? Also, why doesn't "Internet" show up as one of the recent apps when you long press the Home key? So the other browser that seems to be very popular is xScope, and that has tabs, which I really like, and it saves them when you go in and out, which is great. However, in that, and others (like Dolphin, Miren, etc.), when you're on a page and press the search button, it just goes to the browser bar, instead of Google search, like in the stock browser. And since it's the browser bar, it doesn't allow Swype to auto space, which drives me crazy. I continuously hit search in the stock browser and type in all sorts of things. Anyone have any solution for that? I've been mostly with the stock browser for that reason, but the not saving windows is really bugging me, and xScope seems like a nicer browser in many ways.

Anyway, any thoughts folks have would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, and happy to be part of the community!

Are you hitting home to exit the browser when trying to multitask or using the back button to back out?

Hmm, you know, good question. I'm sure I do both actually from time to time, but haven't noticed a difference. Is that the key though? Will it save them if I do one rather than the other? Thanks a lot!

Hitting the home key should keep the app open to where you left off. Hitting the back key and backing out is the same as closing an app. It'll start fresh next time its opened.

Ah, OK, great to know, thanks for that, that is very helpful.

Now anybody have any suggestions re the searching with other browsers, or am I just stuck with that? xScope almost seems a better browser in a lot of ways, it's just that one thing that's really bugging me.

Thanks again!
