Buddies Now widget question

First off Im coming from the HTC Eris, so natural i'm in love with my Fascinate, HOWEVER, I did like Sense UI, most importantly [for this thread] the People Widget. I like the Buddies Now widget on the Fascinate, except for the fact that its 4x4 and theres no 2x4 size. I was wondering if there was a contact favorites widget like People Widget 2x4 size from Sense UI, but my search on the market as lead me to understand the only scrollable widgets there need a 3rd party launcher installed [like launcher pro...etc], becuz [and this is from research so far] Animated widgets are not supported? However, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the Buddies Now widget on Samsungs TouchWiz seems animated/scrolling?....help?

Follow up question, possible to run HTC People Widget on Fascinate?

launcher pro plus copies (and surpasses) the htc sense widgets...its well worth the few bucks, and you can resize the widgets to whatever you want
 
I saw some that i really liked [only working with things like Launcher Pro] but how else can i justify using a different launcher just for one widget?

Also when searching market for Launcher Pro Plus, all i can find is Launcher Pro, no plus?

With lpp you can change almost everything. You don't have to just use it for the one widget
 
So i went and got launcher pro, i gotta say, i love it and it seems like its smoother than TouchWiz to be honest, like the sliding to the different screens, touche gentlemen, touche
 
Follow up question, to help my phoen run smoother and or save on battery, should I remove all widgets from the TwLauncher? Or is it ok to just leave it be in case Id ever wana go back to it [not sure why, just curious lol]

if you arent using a particular launcher remove all widgets from it...or they will run in the background
 
Well i'm setting up LauncherPro just like TwLauncher so it'll be the same exact widgets, i just didnt know if i benefited or not from removing them from the other launcher

you can remove touchwiz...however you need to be rooted....and it breaks social networking sync
 
You cant access the Samsung Widgets in order to resize the Buddies Now widget while in LP, but I found a better widget in the market that works with LP and has the correct size i'm looking for, and im not looking to ROOT just yet...i do have one issue with it tho. The sizing of the screen with the row sizes. 4x4 the widgets and stuff are a SLIGHT fatter from top to bottom, i noticed, and I see the open to put in wide screen, which almost helps, but i have Beautiful Widget and it kinda cuts off the very tip of the Temperature number and makes the background a tad to small....i'm assuming im going to have to talk to the dev about it, seeing if he can put the screen number indicator across the top of the screen [like the TwLaunchers is] so that it pushes that little bit from the top down and i can keep it 4x4 like TwLauncher
