post bug and version ill add them on the top post as we go.

PLEASE ONLY POST BUGS

Broken Out version 1.0

BUGS:

- maps shows huge battery drain over 50% even when in background

- standby drain wont go under 120 mA even with fresh flash according to battery monitor widget vs. about 35mA on stock debloated.

- wont charge unless phone is turned on. strange screen with blur on it shows up if off and plygged in. not sure if its related to the rom.

- a permanent fix for the clock settings switching to 1500 automatically would be nice

- Random Reboots. very occasional and rare

- Skyvi. voice search works skyvi does not. see post #2

- Framework-res: The text under menus is very hard to read and should be brighter than stock. some of us have j.d. dimming brightness.

- Play Store: Search suggestions do not work very well. They disappear and appear at random key entries, but never stay upon deleting or adding a new characters to the text field

- Hidden Menus: Its always good to have the MetroPCS Hidden Menu, along with the rest of the Hidden Menus, at hand in case any last-minute modifications to it are required.

- ***com.android.settings*** crashes when BT is turned on. see post #3... my bluetooth works not sure about his

- gps lock was super fast almost instant on stock got slower after rom.

- notifications overlap the time when theres too many in status bar

SUGGESTIONS:

** Personal ** - Browser: Would be nice if the apk is edited to remove the otherwise irremovable MetroPCS bookmark.

** Personal ** - MetroPCS Lock Screen: The MetroPCS from the notification area was removed and, for me, that is awesome since it frees more space to view more notifications without the need of scrolling down, but it would be nice if we had the ability to change the MetroPCS name on the lock screen to whatever we want, say.. our name. That way, people will know the name of the phone's owner or contact information in case the device is lost. The only app that accomplishes this is this one: [APP]carrier name - xda-developers However, it does not seem to work for the Connect.

- Random Reboots: The Connect randomly restarts from time to time; although these occurrences are not very frequent, it is an existing bug that needs to be fixed, Data could be lost when the phone restarts while in the middle of something.

- Skyvi: I think the solution to this would be to re-integrate the "ttsservice.apk" and "picotts.apk" from the stock ROM (deodexed of course.) If not, I am not really sure what is making this particular app crash every time its launched. Voice Search works just fine.

- Framework-res: The text that shows under menus in Settings is way too dark to read. Phones, such as the Connect and most Androids, are better used with automatic brightness in power saving mode to better preserve battery life, so it would be better to use a brighter font since changing themes does not seem to have an effect on it.

- Play Store: Search suggestions do not work very well. They disappear and appear at random key entries, but never stay upon deleting or adding a new characters to the text field.

- Battery Progress Icon When Powered-Off: A black screen (Looks as if its cracked a bit) with no icon displaying the charging progress of the battery. The initial post of this thread suggests that the phone does not charge at all and, although I am not sure about that, it may just be that it is not displaying the progress of the charge.

- Hidden Menus: Its always good to have the MetroPCS Hidden Menu, along with the rest of the Hidden Menus, at hand in case any last-minute modifications to it are required.

** Personal ** - Browser: Would be nice if the apk is edited to remove the otherwise irremovable MetroPCS bookmark. :)

That's it, I think. Lol Great ROM though. For being the first one ever for the Connect and considering it was made without having hands-on the device, it is amazing it came out almost flawless. Kudos. :)

Can you get a screenshot of the Metro PCS on the lock screen? Thanks!!!

Hey guys, idk if this bug (or issue or whatever you want to call it haha) has been reported already, but just to be on the safe side, ill just let you guys know about it. Whenever there are too many notifications on the status bar, the icons start overlapping the time quite a bit. Yeah easy fix would be to click "Clear" in the notifications bar, but still... haha it would be nice if that was resolved. No biggie really, just annoying :P thanks in advance. Theres a screen shot so you guys can see what i am talking about =)

What clock is that?

I had an issue with it when I first installed it, but performing a re-installation of it fixed it. Half of the apps that come installed with it weren't, for instance, the terminal emulator and a few others.

Ive found that when using golauncher on your rom it seems to eat up ram and wont clear unless i restart. Any ideas?

Sorry guys don't want to seem like I'm leaving things hanging. I have actually been rebuilding broken out for the LG Revolution just about from the ground up. Several things will port right over for me, just trying tie up some loose ends over there. Thanks for your patience.

I love this rom but there are a few bugs I have noticed a minor one is while the phone is off there is no charging icon its just a lit but black screen.

The main issue for me is the bluetooth! I have determined it IS the rom by testing between stock and breakout

I cannot get my device to pair up with other phones, but mainly my Philips Fidelio AS111/37. My connect pairs up after I do a lg tool restore, but not with this rom. I connect it and it pairs to bluetooth audio but never fully connects and only asks to pair with device AFTER i turn bluetooth off or exit the app but still does not pair!!! Also when I play my music through bluetooth audio it plays for about half of a song then screws up starts to crackle cut in out and then stops playing completely while my music player says its still playing. not the song either ive tested everything and came to the final proven conclusion it is a bug in the bluetooth of this rom!!!

Anybody have a fix?

Here's one I know that none of you have ran into...

On your phone Dial ##626* and you'll be prompted to enter your service code. When you enter your code you'll get an error. The process Android.Process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Seems like MtMichaelson left out some of the most basic metro pcs, and android functions...

From what I've seen I think that this rom was mildly slapped together using hot swapping for the most part, and I believe that's what's causing all the issues. I think the best thing you could do is decide what's more important, bluetooth, or the rom. For me as nice as broken out was it drained my battery way too much, rebooted too often, caused numerous FC's and just flat out got on my nerves for the most part. That's why I'm trying to merge the kernel with stock to get a good oc'd kernel without the troubles.

If you want something that'll perform VERY similar to this, ad not have the issues it does please check out the ROM Release Thread that I have stickied in this section, and look at the "Stripped" ROMs.

I don't know if anyone else has delved a little deeper into the system files on broken out, but I did find something a bit odd. In the framework-Res apk and systemui APK (I've been messing around with the look a bit) I've noticed there are 2 Res folders in both, there should only be one.. Both Res folders contain identical items (pngs, system icons, etc..) kinda goofy.

Considering I don't actually overclock my connect, I don't see much of a reason to use broken out anymore. It was fun for a bit to mess around with but I think I'm going back to using stock. Ill strip it down and deodex it. If someone manages to merge the overclock kernel ill use it, but if not its no biggie.

There's just too many little issues that irritate me about broken out at this point lol.

Got another bug here at least for me. My signal bars for the cell antenna either show no signal (even though I get normal 4g speeds and suffer no disconnects from anything) or they flicker on and off (it will either flicker between no bars and whatever I have or it will flicker between two different levels). Everything seems random and I cant get it to stabilize no matter what I do. Sometimes it works just fine and sometimes it goes haywire. Seems theres no reason or rhyme to it. Its a pretty minor bug but if you could take care of it in the next release (along with the other stuff) I would be eternally grateful since I LOVE this phone and I LOVE your ROM/kernel (or at least what youve done to other ROM/kernels to get this)

Having same problem with signal bars hopping around as well as go launcher not clearing ram. Having no problem with connecting Bluetooth though. Instead, its as if I have a poor call connection (only hearing bits and pieces of things) [only when using bluetooth and no there is no problem with any of my bluetooth devices]

Hello peeps, im new here, but the problem im having is if I let the battery completly run down i have to leave it pluged in for like 2 hours befor the key lights even start flashing. I'm pretty sure it's related to the issue where the phone dosn't seam to charge when its powered down. At first i thought it would charge when powered down but just didn't show the progress, but now im pretty sure if it charges at all it's next to nothing. Thanks for the rom with these few fixies you got in the works I'm sure the new release will be awesome.
