Help Buggy issues after root and ODIN flashing gingerbread

Hello all!! first off, before I start, I would be remiss if I didnt thank hroark, Shabbypenquin, interdpth, Chin Checka, blooddawn, and the countless others who have helped me as Ive been frequently perusing the many Android forums!! And now, the problem(s)....

So, to make a long story short, here it is in a nutshell....

I received the ota update for EJ06 Gingerbread about 5-6 weeks ago...I knew that I couldnt update that way, being as how I was already rooted for months before (thanks again guys!) so I researched our good friend Google and happened upon the ODIN thread, which I read at length to comprehend the software properly...set everything up, then ODIN flashed Chin Checkas Gingerbread image with root and CWM5 and everything seemed great!! Or so it seemed, appently...

I wasnt worried about the Market and com.phone issues I read others having when they first did this, being as how I read about em ;)
Went about the arduous task of making my phone whole again (redownloading apps, etc) and over the past few weeks, I've had a few issues...

1) anything phone related: messaging, calls, and the like, LAGS badly!
ie, pressing the end button to end a call actually ends the call, but after about 10-15 seconds....very irritating!!
2) When intializing any app, it takes about anywhere from 5-10 seconds to load...used to be almost instantaneous before
3) SetCPU force closes on boot EVERY time, with or without widget, and the set on boot option both ticked and unticked
4) And now for the WHAMMY!! LOL...
Any app that requests superuser permissions for downloading files, ie and most notably, AdAway and AdFree hosts files, pretty much doing anything with Absolute System and Titanium Backup, and even updating the su binary from Superuser itself!! causes the phone to instantly reboot!! WTF LOL!!

Now, this is my first Android/smartphone, so Ive been learning on the fly since July, and havent really had to post since my research and understanding skills are usually pretty immaculate, so pardon my semi-newbness-but, one possible solution that I havent tried yet would be to flash a different kernel...not sure it'd work (running stock) but I cant think of anything else!! Any help/advice/assistance is greatly appreciated for this matter!! Thanks in advance!!

Did you do a factory reset after the Odin flash? This happens to me sometimes as well. Just reboot into recovery (Vol up +power) and select factory reset.

Yeah I actually did do that too...after reading some of the issues others had, I made it my last step...in your opinion lordvincent, do you think I should flash a custom kernel and see what happens? Ive seen that some people have had issues with the stock kernel...I could always factory reset, flash back, then reflash and factory reset again, but seeing as how thats a little time consuming, I'd rather not...but will if I have to!!
Any benefits at all to running a custom kernel in your experience?

IMHO the kennels released in this forum can do nothing but improve you experience with this phone. If you are truly looking for speed and performance you could check out ctmod(ROM). It basically let's you build the phone to your likings a it is stripped down to bare basics.
But at the very least try koumakernel.
A for your problems tho, I would recommend a fresh install. maybe even tryto re-download the Odin image and try again. your issues should have nothing to do with the kernel

Hmmm...that ctmod sounds like quite the thing I may have to look into...I was also conversing on the ACS forums and was recommended to try to wipe cache and dalvik cache and a factory reset if that didnt work...Im leaning more towards a clean sweep and reinstall of everything and then checking out that ctmod or koumakernel...if I was a betting man, and I am, I'd wager to say that I'll be devoting a couple of hours of work to my phone tomorrow!! Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it and will follow!!

*UPDATE!!*

So I wiped cache and dalvik cache and rebooted, and the speed and responsiveness of my phone is back!!
But...the major problem still looms!!
SetCPU didnt force close on boot, apps responsive and smooth, same with messaging and calls...3 outta 4 aint bad
Then I fire up Absolute System and choose the download boot images tab and...
INSTANT REBOOT!! And I do mean instant too...then, like magic, ta da!! SetCPU fc right outta the gate!!
Any ideas at all whats causing this!?? I'd like to solve this problem as it is highly annoying and searches on this specific topic turn up next to nothing!!
Mind, this has been a deathly issue for my phone for almost a month, but hopefully theres a solution out there short of a clean sweep and reinstall!!!
And once again, thanks!!

If you did not try to wipe the dalvik, I would try that to see if it clears up the problem. When you factory wipe it also wipes cashe.
And just to clarify, komakernel is a kernel for ej06
Ctmod is a ROM. you can install both.
The ROM run and managed by the kernel (correct me if I'm wrong) and are 2 seperate things with a symbiotic relationship.

Well, I'll be doing a clean sweep and reinstall tomorrow afternoon of my phone...was gonna do it today, but work was too brutal on me and I just need to recoup before I hafta be back in to there at 430 in the morning and work all day!! I'll be checking back tomorrow before prepping for surgery lol....

And as a response to your last post, yeah I wiped both cache and dalvik cache through CWM...and like I mentioned, the performance issues are gone...its just the superuser apps reboot problem left...I actually unistalled the updates to superuser...didnt work, then updated the app and su binary, again to no avail...so, the more and more I troubleshoot this issue, the more Im being led to believe that its a corrupted download of the ROM...dont know what else it could be...
