Root Bugless Beast V0.1 FRF57

Had the same problem, reinstalled the original ROM with whatever included kernal, gonna wait for any kernel updates Pete does
 
Ok, finally got mine to work with SPRecovery. Flashed the 1.0 GHz P3 kernel and got the red light with the please plug in your phone message and immediate shutdown. When I plugged my phone in it would stay on so I downloaded the 800 and the 1.25 kernel and went for the 1.25. Everything works great now.

where can i find that kernel
 
Sorry if it's already been asked, I don't have time to read the whole thread right now. But has anyone installed this NexBeast and just restored their data (using CW or SPR) with no issues? That's how I updated from the original 2.2 leak to FRF57 and didn't have a prob, so I'm assuming it won't be a prob with this, but want to be sure before I try.

Also, are their any other kernels available for 2.2 besides the ones listed in the OP here? I'm running the 1.1 GHz (labeled 1.25 GHz) and battery life has tanked from Chevy's 1.1 LV kernel I was running with NexBeast 1.0.1 (2.1) before I installed Froyo. So I would like to use Chevys' kernels if possible.

Does anyone know the details of the small update Pete released early this morning? I checked the info on Droidforums.net but can't seem to find any info about the update. This ROM is working flawlessly for me right now (I have WiFi, Maps and Flash working). If the update is designed to address something other than this, I'll flash it. Otherwise I'll leave well-enough alone.

Edit #2: I flashed this over my current BBFroyo without wiping. Everything is running fine. My maps and flash were working prior to this, as I installed them myself, so I'm not sure if this will fix issues others are having. After flashing I just ran some scripts again, and changed kernels and all is well.

I had been having issues with Maps in the previous release from Pete, and after trying everything, including modifying the .xml file, this new update finally has Maps appearing and working.

The only thing is, the Market doesn't show it as installed.
 
These are kernels that will work with this ROM

P3Droid Kernels

Make sure you choose a kernel from one of the two sections that state they're made specifically for 2.2 ROMs. I've always had success with P3Droid kernels. They're the only LV kernels that I can successfully run above 1.0Ghz.
 
quick question, whats a good site to test if i have adobe flash working? not sure if it is working or not and am eager to check? whats a quick and easy site to check it
 
also, i just recently DL'd the Nexthem from the BB v1.1 thread and absolutely loved it, will that theme work with this rom??

Check out nytimes.com. There's a flash video down on the first page (towards the left side). If you see a video loading, you have Flash. If you don't have Flash, you'll see something telling you that you need to install Adobe Flash Player.
 
okay no flash for me...so the steps to try and get flash are as follows correct:
download the flash pk.
move to sd card
install via Astro correct?

Also, im not a fan of the 3D drawer...is that a froyo feature or can i go back to the regular drawer???

If so where could i find a theme like Pete's BB v1.1 Nextheme ?
 
Okay, here goes, i finally got this baby running, it wasn't a big headache, i just started too late at night to fully resolve it, im just trying to give Pete and yall feedback:

I got BuglessBeast V.01FRF57 "Froyo" to finally work great, here goes the explanation:

NOTES:
Kernels: ANY 2.2 Kernels will work, i tried using a BBV1.1 kernel and i got a bootup massacre; it would boot up but have no signal/3g and say Adroid System Error or try to Force Close. This was the biggest problem that i had but its an easy fix. Just reinstall the OG BB Froyo and find a 2.2 Kernel P3Droid Kernels

Baseband: I tried using the baseband Pete has on the OP, but for some reason, my signal/3g/wifi were all over the place; I simply just reverted back to this one and now all is dandy: http://mydroidfiles.com/downloads/basebandupdate.zip C_01.3E.03P

Adobe Flash: to do a quick check go to NYTimes.com and theres a video that will either play or ask you to install. Mine asked me i needed flash, download the Adobe flash pk. that pete linked too, drop it into your root SD card, and install via Astro File Manage...mine is working now.

As far as performance, im loving it again and my Quadrant score is: 1455

I wish i knew how to take screenshots.

Anywhoo heres is my one gripe.

I don't like the 3D rolling drawer...BUT i do love the phone/drawer/internet brower setup...wondering where i can find 2.2 Froyo themes that match to Petes BBv1.1 Nextheme, i really dug that one...

I know everyone is all gung ho about Flash, but it REALLY slows down web page rendering and navigation around sites that have flash running in their ads. This ROM is so freakin fast without FLASH - I think I'm going to leave it off.

I wish there was a way to TURN it off - anyone know how to do that?

In the browser settings, go to "Enable Plugins" and choose "On Demand." Now it'll have a box instead of the Flash play. Just press the video to play the Flash.

You could also turn it off in the same setting menu.
 
Ok, so I've notice a couple of things with froyo.

1.) Scanlife doesn't work for me. The center of the screen where the QR Code would be scanned is solid white now and won't recognize any codes.

2.) Advanced Task Killer (ATK) doesn't kill itself anymore.

Advanced task manager works fine with froyo..
But I went back to the other leak from b.b. it just seemed faster, and I was getting alot of force closes with bugless. I may switch back, but IMO, the original leak had less bugs in it than bugless beast did this time.
