buit in fm fm transmitter?

The captivate doesn't have a built-in FM transmitter but there are plenty of transmitters that will do this that are built for cars. I had one that plugged into the lighter jack to get power and had a cord that plugged into the headphone jack.

I used the MotoRokr T505 to do this. It clips to your visor and uses a Bluetooth connection to your phone and then can either use a speaker on the device OR connect to your car on FM. The built in speaker is good enough that I used it from time to time in the kitchen while I was doing dishes.

The only thing I personally didn't like is the rigamarole involved with switching from wired headphones to the bluetooth back to wired headphones (going into a store) switching back to bluetooth etc... So I switched over to the MotoRokr S9 bluetooth headphones.

I still have the T505 in the car but these days I only use it if I'm going to be driving for more than an hour or two.

Actually the galaxy s series does have an FM transmitter built in to one of the chips but i dont know if the rest of the necessary hardware is in it. Early attempts were made on xda but failed.

I thought that was for the FM receiver, not transmitter. The captivate has neither.
