Bummed out about no LTE?

Wow that's great. It's my little media play at work on wifi but I'll get on TT, Twitter, check email, Hangouts and it's quite a champ for how cheap it is. I recommend this phone to anyone on a budget and/or just getting into smartphones. :)

AFAIK, folks are saying the Moto E is the "first" Lenovo/Moto phone so I think this was in the pipeline for a while.

Not true. The sale of motorola hasnt been approved yet. The e is a moto device. It was a planned device for a while. Theres talk once levono does take over they may drop the e and g because moto is losing money.

And honestly it's a great move. Going for the Indian market. A population of 2 billion. Ya. I would want to go for the low end phone market too if I were them.

I can't use the gsm versions anyways out here where I live, but that SD card slot makes me jealous

This is what really disappoints me. Since we now know it is physically possible, why didn't they provide an SD card slot on the original Moto G in the first place?!

If you take off the backplate you see places where it should go.. And second sim slot as well... My guess it was planned from the start

i'm considering purchasing the new Moto G LTE for a play/travel phone. I'm anxious to begin playing with Android (again) a bit as long as it's not my daily driver. I looked at XDA and it seems this phone has a ton of Roms and customs. I'll be getting it to also test Tmo's network in my area since i'm probably switching to them in the fall.

I use a normal 16 gb Moto G as my backup to my tl and flash box (tl has locked bootloader) it's wonderful so far

I'll 2nd DirtyDee. I'm really lovin' it. I'm using the 16GB original one (XT1034, U.S. AWS) as my daily driver. I have mine on metroPCS (which of course uses T-Mobile's network) and get anywhere from 3 to 12 meg down. It's a large range, but it's still decent and I don't have any troubles looking web pages or this forum on tapatalk. I live in the Dallas area.

i'll be also using mine internationally to take advantage of Tmo's international plans.

The new LTE one comes with micro sd slot. I have several laying around to use from my past android days. I go back over seas in July so I'll have it by then.

It's only a 8 gb, and Kitkat does not allow you to write to SD card, so no apps can NOT be put on it. Only camera will download to SD card. Even music will have to be put on card via computer hookup. You think 8 gb is enough with what they alot to applications on it?
