Root Butternoob root

Ok, Im sure you have all seen my posts on the other forums but i did not recieve the answer i was looking for. I have a ZTE Z970 from MetroPCS. It came with android 4.4.4. I have flashed the recovery to twrp and have loaded the Butternoob v2 to the phone through abd because the twrp errored out trying to flash it.

Anyway, I now have butternoob v2 on my phone and it has the included preinstalled supersu.
However when an app recieves root permissions from supersu, the app does not have write access to anything in the system folders. ie...cant remove system apps or convert apps back and forth between system and user. This also throws a wrench in the root terminal program that i am wanting to run. Yes it recieves root and the prompt changes to root however as with the other apps It does not have permission to chmod or to delete and write files into the system directories.

Please assist me in enabling root applications to have write access.

Thanks.

Wanted to mention as an after note. I have looked through other forums, however, trying to find the answer through hundreds of pages of posts is difficult, so please forgive me if this has been answered and direct me to the answer.

Ok, I have downloaded the two files and have checked, double checked, and triple checked the md5 on the files and they indeed match. They are located on my external sd card. I have rebooted into TWRP v2.8.6.0 and went to install. I load the switcher zip file and slide the slider and I ger an error. The error states "E: Failed to sysMapFile:" and then states the file name and path of the switcher zip file.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I watched a youtube video with someone doing it successfull with TWRP 2.7.0 however I can not find that one for the ZMax only the 2.8.6.0 that i have.

Is this caused by twrp? Should I try and send them over via abd sideloader? How can I get these to work?

Thanks

Did you change any settings in twrp? If you have the settings set to the default values you should not get any errors.

No settings have been changed, although i don't know what settings could be as there doesn't seem to much configuration in this version of twrp. I have even reinstalled the TWRP ZTE ZMax V2.8.6.0 and reflashed the recovery with it. It did not help. I still received the same error. I did however attempted to use sideloader to flash the switcher zip file within TWRP and the switcher went through without a hitch. This tells me that there is something wrong with the twrp rom in relationship to my phone as it has a problem with files from my sd card.. I do not want to hook it up to a computer every time i want to switch back and forth between r/o and r/w modes. So until we can figure this out, I am having to run my phone with the switcher rom activated. I just have to remember to hold my volume button if i need to restart the phone.

Has anyone ram into this error before? Do we know what is causing it?
