Button on home screen to lock the device

[shootist]

I'm looking for a way to lock the device from a button on the home screen so I don't have to hit the power button to do it (or I can if I want).

I don't need to change the LOCK screen itself (that is fine) I just want a button/icon/app to lock the device on the home screen.

Thanks.

look up lockscreen I don't remember the name of it but on the market there
is an app which is just that. you place the widget (a lock) anywhere on the homescreen and when you press it it locks the screen.

Thanks.
I found Screen Off and Lock. Just what I needed without any added bells and whistles.
Only problem I found was I was going to get the paid version but for some reason the writer doesn't accept Amex. So I got the free version.
