Buy...or not?

OK, most here seem to be quite satisfied with the Dinc 4g purchases.

I just checked Let'sTalk and I can get it for $19.99 after DROID20.

Should I give up my unlimited and get the phone really cheap while paying $52 MORE per month on the 2gig data plan, or should I just keep my Droid Incredible and unlimited?

Will Verizon catch up with me and eventually and force me off the unlimited plan when my contract is up?

$52*24months= $1248

I think you should buy off contract($499), keep unlimited and give me the $749.

Thanks for the reply. I think I may wait until the "retail" price goes down a bit.

However, for a 4" phone I can keep in my pocket, is the phone still worth the money in any event?

If a 4" phone is what you want, it is a very good phone. I like it a little more every time I use it.

No way is this phone worth $150 + $30 fee + tax = $200.

$200 for a this phone that has a dated design, tiny screen, thick and bulky design, ect.

So if someone wants to stay with a phone under 4.3", what would you suggest? All there is on Verizon is the Inc4G, Droid4, Stratosphere, & iPhone4s. Everything but the Inc4G was released 6 months ago or longer. The Droid4 might get ICS, but I don't know that for a fact.

So if you're obviously not interested in the Inc4G, why have all your posts (3 as of this time) been in the Inc4G forum and all bashing it. If you don't like it fine, that's your opinion. But coming here and calling it a fail is a bit harsh since I'm looking for a phone with a 4" screen, and this suits my needs.

It looks like the resound but other then that, I couldn't disagree with you more. It misnt as thin as the s3 or one x but it is far from thick and bulky! It actually feels quit nice in the hands! Very light weight, I don't know if I would want to much thinner.

The screen is far from tiny also. It's not a huge one, again like one x is s3, but that doesn't make it "tiny"... The screen is beautiful to look at. The feel of the glass is fantastic! My preference would have been a 4.3" myself, since that is what I was use to, but I am hardly noticing the difference after a few days.

Guys, don't give this guy the time of day or the response that he is hoping to provoke out of his posts! New Member and he sits in this forum ripping the phone instead of giving useful input... "if he can"... on an android phone he actually owns.

This... ^^... to each their own if they want to give up unlimited data, but I am in your boat and I will not give it up. The big issue for me was the $30 "Upgrade Fee" Verizon was going to tac onto my bill. $149 + $30 upgrade fee + taxes etc... Pretty much $200.... and lose unlimited data. $499 and no upgrade fee and no lose of unlimited data. I see they are already going for auctions on Ebay. Only a matter of time you will be able to snag one for $299 - $399 and lose NOTHING!! That's what I'm doing..!!

I commend you for sticking with this phone all this time! I have the S3 coming on the 11th, but not ruling out a return. It's more likely I won't though. I guess I'll catch up with HTC the next go around.

:) It's a couple things... I like Sense and I do not want a phone bigger then 4". I will NOT get an iPhone!! So I either stick with the Inc2 or get this phone. I'm OK with that!!:) My biggest concern was the battery life, but that is looking pretty promising.

I'm wondering what he's trying to accomplish. Hell, the original Incredible was $199, & I think it was worth it. And I think this phone will be worth it as well.

Waaaayyyy cheaper than an iPhone, too. I love everything about this phone so far.

Should you upgrade and lose unlimited? In my opinion no, but for me it actually made our plan about $20 cheaper and we have 8GB of data that we won't even get close to. Now you should definitely get the phone off contract though, I am in love with this phone and am getting great battery life (in my opinion) plus I'm already unlocked and rooted and someone has already found a way to overclock it to 1.8ghz which I'm tempted to try. :burnout: :vroam:

Thanks all for the reply's. It seems to be a worthwhile phone that does not justify Verizon's costs and fees. As one poster wrote, the cost will come down and that will be by time to buy one off-contract. I will get mine then.

So you have three options.
- Stick with an outdated Inc 2
- Upgrade to Rezound (4.3 inch screen, ibeats ear buds running 2.3 will definitely see 4.0 but unsure of 4.1 )
- Upgrade to Inc 4G ( new device which will probably see jelly beans)

The Rezound & Inc 4G as u can see are your best bets. For me it would be new software plus latest OS vs ibeats ear buds.

Well no not quite.. My post said I wanted a phone no bigger then 4"... The Rezound is a 4.3" phone. I actually got that phone and took it back in less then 1 week. Hated it!!

So ya, keep the out dated Inc 2 or upgrade to the Inc 4G off contract!! (This is my option.) Just waiting a month or so for the price to drop.

Well since u made your decision try bestbuy, amazon or radio shack to buy it off contract. They should be cheaper then Verizon.

Not necessarily with Best Buy. Their subsidized prices are usually cheaper than Verizon, but their retail prices can be higher. For example, the Thunderbolt at launch was $650 retail at VZW, while BB's price was $750. Not saying that's the case with the Inc4g, just preparing the OP in case they are charging more for it like they did with the TBolt.

well just look right now, best buy has the inc 4g for 599 off contract, verizon has it for 499?

There starting to show up on Ebay auctions as well. Bidding on one right now. I think I will have one within a month or so...

Why would the 2GB plan be $52 more per month? For me it would be $0.01 more.

It probably depends on if you have discounts or not. I've got a 5 line Family Share plan, with everyone on unlimited data, and we have a $20 discount per line for keeping data on each line that we got in the Fall of 2010. If we each bought a subsidized phone and each went to a 2GB tiered data plan, we'd lose that discount and end up paying around $100 more per month. If we went to a Share Data plan with 8GB (the rep said we'd be close on a 6GB and that's with me and another line on WiFi 90% of the time so far) we'd be looking at around $60 higher a month with 2GB less data than we'd get with 5 individual tiered plans.

Basically, because of that discount no matter which newer plan we go to it's going to cost us more for less. We wouldn't have put smartphones on all 5 lines if they hadn't offered us that promo. From now on we'll be buying retail to keep our current plan until Verizon finds a way to get us off it. Once that happens, we won't lose anything looking at other carriers, or I'll move everyone off of my plan and they can do what they want.

Is that 299-399 brand new?
