Buyers be Careful

No, not Htc One M8! I bought it some weeks ago and it's all scratches despite taking good care of the screen and metal body, not using anything abrasive to clean it. Virtually keeps it between lint and cotton.

I'm sorry to hear that, though I have had mine for a month and have yet to have any scratches on the screen or the body. I Keep mine naked unless I know I am going to be in a rough environment and this has served me well. Perhaps there is sand in your pocket? This is the most common abrasive material that scratches phones when they are in your pocket. Sand will scratch the body and the screen very easily, especially with all the friction in your pocket.

No scratches anywhere in mine either. Had it a few weeks. Just an Incipio case. No screen protector.

Perhaps you can post some pictures of the damage so that we can see and maybe protect our phones in those areas?

You mean phones scratch?

I would have never guessed..

Maybe that's what skins, cases and protectors are for.

I can vouch for the OP 's claims. I have had the phone for about a month now and it has been loved and handled with care. Pocket kept, never dropped, blah blah. The screen looks as good as new thank goodness, but the chrome polished edges (closest to the screen part, just before the rounded edges) have noticeable scratches. Not deep, but they are there.
I am pretty bummed, but what should I expect? This is the first premium built phone I have ever owned, I figured I could use it without a case but that was just ignorant of me. I was getting so used to how good it felt in my pocket without a case haha. Coming from a note 2 with otter box commuter, this phone just felt incredible.
Any recommendations for a minimalistic case? Maybe something clear? I'm done with bulky cases, and honestly I don't want to hide the beauty of this phone.
