Root C-ROM Version 1.0 Beta 2 - Gingerbread GREATNESS

I'm also having a problem where my contacts are not combining correctly. With other ROMs if I have a Facebook and a Google contact with the same name they will combine into one contact in my contact list. It is not doing this in the current beta 2.

I had this problem too. Hopefully facebook updates their app for gingerbread soon. it was annoying. what you can do is hit menu button --> edit contact then menu button ---> join and manually merge the dups. I have about 300 facebook friends that sync and I had to manually merge around ~20 of them.

dew912, thank you for all your efforts. I just rolled back to your build after trying the new BB GB.

I have noticed that none of the Gingerbread ROMs allow you to use the built in wired tethering through USB. Is that something that you and the other devs are looking at fixing? Or is it just something we will have to live with running GB.

wired tether works for me, what app are you using? have you switched kernels?

I'm using the stock kernel and not running a third-party app. Simple going to my settings, then wireless, then tethering and clicking on the box like I normally did with Froyo.

Anyone use the home dock and have the light randomly turn on after you have turned the screen off. I think it may relate to the phone trying to autorefresh the weather, but it is hella annoying. It wakes me up a few times a night. I will disable autorefresh for now, but just letting you know.

So as of last night, when ever I mount my phone via USB and then unmount it when im done, about 600 pictures get deleted from my camera folder and I ahve to re transfer them over from a backup on my computer.

Any ideas?

I have been playing with a few of the GB roms the last few days. This is by far the smoothest one,(not just GB, but any rom I have tried) at least on my Droid. Battery life is incredible, everything seems to flow, and is very fast.

I have had a few random reboots, but no force closes, I also have the issue with the playback on the camcorder. While these are a bit of a bummer, they are not a deal breaker when all things are considered. As stated, for my phone, this rom is a powerhouse. I look forward to the final version and just wanted to say Thank You.

Still getting screaming Battery life,

I have run so many different Roms, this one takes the cake. It does not have all the bells and whistles as others, but i really don't care. It has everything and more then i use on a daily basis. Looking forward to his next release, but hope the battery life does not suffer, because i will go right back to this Rom.

Yeah...I've not gotten the battery life I expected with this one, unfortunately. Froyo seemed to do much better. GB hasn't loved my battery very much, but that's what I hear with every rom.

On SetCPU, it keeps defaulting to 1000MHz with profiles turned off and my current settings maxed out at 800MHz. I think this is why my battery life is not as good as it should be. (Using stock kernel that came with this rom.) This seemed to happen on other GB roms (though not all roms, not all kernels). What gives?

Had it on Interactive. Switched to chevyno1's 1GHz lv kernel. It's now maxing at 800MHz like I told it to. :)

Problem is, battery still running hot and not giving me the life i would expect from this rom (regardless of kernel). I think UD (and even Liquid!) Gave me better battery life...

hey guys I am new to rooting and custom roms and whatnot.

I have done the SPRecovery mod and understand how to select which Rom I would like to restore and whatnot. Only problem is this particular rom when I unzip gives me 2 folders and a "boot.img" file. Do I create a folder myself inside the nandroid folder and put them all in it or what?

You shouldn't be unzipping it at all... just place the entire file on the root of your SD card, if you are using SPRecovery you will need to rename the file "update"
