Root C771 Drivers

OEM Drivers install work for a short time then Breaks the drivers with error code 37. in other words MS sees the thing when online and breaks the drivers for som odd reason.
:mad:Just heads up before you try Win 8:mad:
Now its:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Freaking weird in Windows 8 is Schizophrenic.

Driver Management concluded the process to install driver wpdmtp.inf_amd64_8e480892a75ca191\wpdmtp.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_0409&PID_02EF\6&14250747&0&1 with the following status: 0x0.

Device USB\VID_0409&PID_02EF\6&14250747&0&1 was configured with oem1.inf (C771.Install.NT).

Device USB\VID_0409&PID_02EF\6&14250747&0&1 has a problem starting with C771BUS (oem1.inf).

How can it work right, then get squashed?

Here are the usb and abd drivers for the commando. Use with SuperOneClick to root. It's a windows driver installer file. Unzip and click to install. You can use one of the unzip files to explore if you want to check out the contents. Pulled this out of the temp folder on my machine.
perfect!!! thanks

Yup tried that and it still failed. Windows accepted the drivers at first then toasted it.

It is Something to do with Windows 8 not Windows 7. if any one else is beta testing Windows 8 Give it a try. and see what comes back. Windows 7 works fine. and has no known issues.

It is Windows 8 that is all screwy, MS really did a number in the drivers department with that OS. So if any one else can load Windows 8 and test the drivers out let me know.
Again I say this is only in Windows 8.
the part not functioning is when you put the phone into charge mode. that is the thing that is broke. I have the mass USB Storage working though.
Like I said, Microsoft really changed a lot of things in Windows 8.

I have images, and Windows 8 is most definitively user Unfriendly. It has 2 ways to load the drivers. Legacy and the normal way. Tried both and windows rejected both even with these drivers from here.
It also deactivates the charge mode for the phone and the only way to get it to charge is through the USB mass storage device. again everything works fine in windows 7 , but Windows 8 has me gravely CONCEREND.

I hope this worked

Ok Here is the Video of a freshly installed Windows 8.
but before posting it I would like to get permission first. or let me know where I can send the video so that some can review it. I am sure after the video is reviewed, it might sway heavily on those wanting to try and use the beta version of Windows 8 Consumer Preview.

On Win7 64 Home Premium. Tried to install the drivers in the first post (and the bootstrap posted just above) and it tells me the drivers are installed...

But nothing will happen. I can't for the life of me get it to tether via USB. If I try to discover it with Bluetooth it just gives me some BS about not being able to find drivers.

So far I'm really happy with the phone except the lack of Root (kind of wishing I had looked into this first...) and that it apparently is like pulling teeth to get it to tether out of the box.

Also, switching over the launcher pro made the whole phone experience. Why in the world would the not allow widescreen on the home?

edit: I uninstalled the drivers, and installed the ones Spike posted...seems to have worked. Windows recognized the Casio Commando and then two lines of C771

edit2: still no luck with bluetooth though

My phone won't let me download the driver. It keeps saying download unsuccessful.

So I put the file on my desktop, restarted my computer, tried the install wizard and pointed to the folder I placed it in and it didn't see it.

I will try once more and use the defaults to see it it takes.

Nice form and nice help. I am new so forgive me on names. Likewise if you need appliance help I have a plethora of information.

My #1 problem with the Commando is that I can't get it to charge on usb power supplies that should be able to charge it. I have a ProMini 4000+ battery that spec's a 5v 1A output I want to use when I am traveling and do not have access to a household outlet.
Can I root my phone to solve the charging problem and not introduce major issues? What's the current best source and instructions, including "unroot" process if I need to back out of the change? Or should I give up the rooting idea and just buy two spare batteries that I can keep charged and swap out when I need?

I have run the Verizon update (hoped that might solve my problem... ha), here's my status:
Model C771
Android 2.3.3
Base band version 1
kernal 2.6.35.7-perf
build C771M130 (updated 11/11/2012)
