Help Calendar, Alerts, and Notifications

For some reason I get alerts AND notifications for calendar events. I get an alert at the event's specified reminder time (10 minutes before or whatever) at which point I'm asked to either snooze or dismiss the alert. This is what I want. But then I also get a notification in the status bar. This is what I don't want. But I get both. In the calendar settings, it allows me to select either alert, notification, or none. None works, but selecting either alert or notification causes both to happen.

Anyone else have this minor but annoying issue? Anyone know how to fix it? I'm using Harmonia but I think the calendar app is the htc app, looks and works the same anyway, I think. I'm also using holo launcher though I don't think that matters, maybe it does.

I was having a similar issue also on a different rom, apparently I had two different versions of calendar installed. One came with the rom and one was the official Google one.

Try checking if maybe you have another calendar app (besides the HTC one) it might be causing a conflict.

You may also want to try clearing the cache of the calendar app. Then reset your settings.
