Help Calendar problem

incubi

Lurker
I've rooted my phone awhile ago and every things been fine. I decided to go for a new calendar look and thought I could just backup and uninstall the factory calendar. Every since then I can't sync any thing calendar related. I found out that you were suppose to back up and freeze that one but it is too late. Every time I try to restore it, it just hangs there.

Help me to restore my stock Calendar app, please! that guy has the same problem as me

I wouldn't care so much if I can't restore it but since that seems to be the problem why I can't sync anything calendar related, any way I could get it back?

Calendar 2.3.4

Thanks!

That seems to be the answer to my problem! I just have no idea how to actually do it. I made a post on it asking how to go about it, but maybe you know? Do i need to dl it on my computer or phone and using what. I tried both and used astro so far I get either cannot read or has not been installed.

You can just take out what files you need and put them in the system app folder and reboot.

you can use Root Explorer to move the file app from your SD card to your phone. or do what shiney said on that post.

Thank you guys so much! I finally got my calendar apps syncing again. I still don't understand why that would affect calendar syncing but I def. won't play with that again.

Thanks again guys!

Android comes with a built-in calendar app, which syncs with Google Calendar. (Google being the creator of Android OS).

The other calendar you installed is either a "standalone" calendar that was never meant sync with Google Calendar or needs the Google Calendar wiring to sync with Google Calendar. By removing Google Calendar app you possibly removed the "wiring" to sync with Google Calendar?

For instance, on this page, the "Pocket Informant" calendar does not sync with Google Calendars.

The app’s feedback suggests the app does not sync with Google Calendar, which is another disappointment, but it uses a similar structure in terms of folders and general organisation.

That would be a deal killer for me...
