Help Calendar Sharing not working

Pattie

Newbie
My husband and I share our calendars. My husband can see my calendar on his calendar online, but not on the Eris. I am not having the same problem on my Eris, I can see his calendar . It stopped working about a week ago. I tried going to Manage Applications on his phone and then hitting Clear Data under the calendar, but still after the re-sync my calendar won't appear.

We tried unchecking my calendar and then rechecking it, both on the phone and on our calendars online, but it didn't work. My calendar appears online, but still not on the phone.

Can anyone help? This is causing a lot of problems for my husband, who relies heavily on being able to see both our calendars on the phone every day.

Thanks.

PS: He can see his own calendar; he is not having the dreaded missing calendar problem discussed previously on this thread.

That problem seems to have been solved about a month ago, thankfully.

I'm sorry to say that I have never tried sharing a calendar, so I'm not sure of an answer for you.

Have you tried turning off sharing of your calendar to his account (on the web on Google calendar) and then turning sharing on again?

After turning sharing on and off, and clearing the calendar storage and rebooting about seven times, it seems to be working now. First my calendar showed up but not his own, then vice versa, then half a calendar ....
:-p

Anyway, all good now, thanks for your help again. Hopefully my next Droid has a much better calendar app.

There is no doubt that the HTC Eris calendar app is not good. The reason that I rooted in the first place was the inconsistency of the calendar app. All of the non-HTC custom ROMs for the Eris that I have run have had zero calendar problems.

Best of luck, and I hope that it continues to work going forward.
