Calendar view on Datepicker widget?

Anybody know if there's already a way to replace/modify the datepicker widget to display a calendar view? The stock dialog box with month, date, year works just fine although I often have to switch apps in order to find out what day of the week I'm setting something up for.
FYI - if I'm not being clear enough, this is the default dialog box that comes up in almost any app when you set a date field.
