Help Calendar wakelock

Hello all,

I have a serious problem with my calendar app. Whenever there is an appoitment with notification in my calendar than my Galaxy remains awake for at least half hour. Better Battery Stats claims that it is caused by 'StartingAlertService' (Calendar).

I use stock KI4 rom with android 2.3.4 (am rooted). Any tips or ideas? Calendar is essential for me, so removing / not using calendar is not an option for me.

I get this and I'm on ki4 also.
I've not discovered a fix for this as yet .
My wakelock persisted for 39 minutes after the notification.
This is a serious problem for heavy calendar users. I will do more digging about but I suspect it will need a firware update and hope it had been addressed.

I don't have background auto sync enabled and my theory is that once the notification pops up the calendar app tries to sync with the google calendar and it of course cannot.
Next time I get a notification I will do a manual calendar sync to see if this wakelock disappears.
 
anybody found a soultion to this??

i've started noticing have got this, and have done so on KI4 and KJ3 (checkrom).

turned off sync of calender, turned off notifications, but still seems get wakelocks when an event is due??:(
