Calibrating Accelerometer

On my Galaxy Nexus, how am I supposed to calibrate the accelerometer? It seems to be a little off. When I lay it down on a flat surface, it goes into landscape mode but I want auto rotate on.

I also heard that calibrating apps aren't permanent.

In gingerbread there was an option to calibrate the g sensor, but I've looked and I can't see it anywhere in jb. Having said that, I've never needed to recalibrate since I was on froyo. Try hunting through the settings, or see if there's an app that will do it.
