Root calkulin's evio 2 1.7 - disappointing

A lot of people seem to like this ROM but I'm very disappointed in it. I flashed it after a data/cache/dalvik/batterystats wipe and before I even restored my backups it got under 1100 on the quadrant benchmark. Numbers aside, it seemed to run pretty smooth at first but now it's laggy although the benchmark numbers have gone up a bit, but are inconsistent.

What I really don't like about it is the battery life. I'm getting 10 hrs a day light use. I don't have a sleep issue, there aren't any apps sucking up power to my knowledge (system is the top consumer at 3.0%), i dont have 4G on (nor have had it on since boot so I'm not getting ghost reconnection attempts), wifi only when its beneficial, hardly any gps. I'm using the stock kernel #15 that it comes with. I have set cpu with some pretty standard profiles.

I also have the newest radios.

I feel like I get this problem a lot with any ROM/kernel :( people were saying this ROM has good battery life and good performance... am I missing something here? I am going to flash fresh 3.5.0.1 tonight after work and see if I get lucky... but is there some obvious step or troubleshooting procedure that I'm naive about that makes this phone last longer than my work day?

try the NA 4.2.1 HAVS more smartass, in setcpu set the governor to smartass, and try the max at either 1153 or 1190 and the min to 245. Also, don't use any profiles, the HAVS take care of everything. I ditched kernal #15 because it can only overclock to around 998.

For quadrent, make sure to set the governor to performance, I just posted a 1562 overclocked to 1190, and I also get over a day and a half of battery with moderate to heavy use. I thought i would never switch from Myns, but I am really liking EViO 2 with ADW launcher (removed sense).

Also, quadrent is the "be all end all". I got crap scores with Myns but it didn't seem to make any user end difference.

edit - meant "isn't the be all, end all" not is

Hmm.. if i were you, id try myns. Go ahead and get it here:
Myns!!!

And flash this kernel here
Kernel!!
Go to the second post and yeah....just pick one...lol.

That new kernel is awesome, dont have time to go into explaining it all, but read up on it a little, it seems to be helping a lot of people.
Its doing wonders on my phone. Basically one of the great things is your phone will stay at 100% a lotttt longer after you pull it off the charger than it used to.
And Myns is really smooth, looks great, seems to not have as many problems at all.

Take a few minutes and MAKE A NANDRIOD BACKUP... then wipe your phone and start over with myns and this kernel. 99.9% chance youll love it.

Sorry things arent working out for you with the others.
Ill PM you in a second and give you some more tips!
Good luck :)
