Help Call Blocking

I'm trying to block marketing companies who keep calling me.

I've added them to the blacklist but I think the black list is only for outgoing and not incoming as they have just tried again from the same number.

Normally a blocklist refers to blocking incoming calls.
Can you give us the steps you followed in details.
Also are you on gingerbread or ICS?

Here are the steps for setting up auto-reject on ICS.
Settings -> Call -> Call rejection
Make sure Auto reject mode is set for Auto reject numbers.
go to Auto reject list and add the numbers of the pesky marketing companies.

p.s. check if a national do-not-disturb database/service is available in your country. If you are registered on such a service such tele-marketers are not allowed to call you and if you get a call you can sue them.
