Root Call delay on Gingerbread (GingerVillain 1.8)

When i answer a call the other person dont hear me for about 1-1,5 sec.
I found a thread on XDA with an app called "Call Delay Pach" but it does not work on my phone, the problem persists.

Did anyone had this issue and solved it somehow?

Its a known issue on all Gingerbread roms. Some people have it, some dont, some intermittantly, others say call delay patch works.

Thats all that can be said about it really.

Its hard to say. It affects all calls (possibly) for some. Others, none at all.

I get it every now and again, but dont really notice.

I have to say hello twice, which if I am outside, I have to do anyway. Its nothing major IMO

I have checked my phone on Redux, Oxygen and Gingervillain and never had a call delay on any of the roms. I put the fix files onto the SD card ready to flash if I had a problem but in the end I just deleted them without every using them.

There doesnt seem to be a pattern. I cant evcen tell if its happening sometimes when it may be

I think I get a delay when first answering a call, about a second or so, but bar that it's fine (using Oxygen 2.0.3)

Yep thats the delay. Its a delay in the microphone activating on the start of a call, rather than a delay in someone speaking and the other hearing.

It was supposedly fixed via a kernel in GV 1.6 but this did then create echo so the "fix" was removed.

If you're having the call delay problem, especially on a device that is not the Nexus One, please star the issue here:

http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=16230

This is a known bug with Gingerbread, that Google recently declined, saying it was "device specific" (to the Nexus One).

However this problem is also being reportedly widely on the HTC Desire, as well as Samsung Galaxy devices. I have posted a new issue above and not attributed it to a specific device.

Please comment and star this issue. And please specificy especially if your device is not the Nexus One, so that Google gets this message that this is a widespread Gingerbread bug, which has nothing to do with the device.

Thanks.

Dont forget that 2.3 is not officially out on the desire, so the RIL and many of the drivers have come directly from the Nexus one. I dont think we can say for certain until there is an official release (not leaked as we don't know that is final)

That's a good point, but wouldn't that still demonstrate that it is not a hardware issue with the Nexus One?

Touche. Although desire hardware is very similar.

Someone told me delay is gone in leaked 2.3 for desire
